USHA’s Harley Brown Division Partners with HopeKids Colorado to Help Families Through Difficult Times

Team Donates Over $9,000 to help families

DENVER (PRWEB)January 18, 2018

Dealing with loss is painful. Dealing with the loss of a child is…an excruciating journey that brings a family together to face its darkest hours.

One family in Denver, Colorado found themselves on this very journey, when their son passed away in 2016. But, with the help of the USHEALTH Advisors Harley Brown Division, in partnership with HopeKids Colorado, the family’s journey has become a bit more bearable.

When selecting which social responsibility program they would support during USHEALTH Advisors Annual Month of HOPE, the Harley Brown Division found themselves deeply focused on Colorado families who are helped in the darkest of hours by HopeKids Colorado. “Ultimately, our efforts helped a total of 85 families and 230 kids,” said USHA Division Sales Leader Harley Brown. “We provided Christmas gifts for all the families and any extra money we raised, was then donated to HopeKids Colorado.” On December 1st, the Brown Division provided HopeKids Colorado with a check in the amount of $9,320.00.

In thanking the Brown Division for their generosity, HopeKids Colorado spokesman Howie Hutchinson said “One of the many things I love about HopeKids is walking with a family through the entire journey, no matter where that journey takes them. For some, it’s a celebration of remission and end of treatment. For others, it means saying their last goodbyes to their child. Thank you for each hour that you give of your time, dollar that you donate and resource that your pour into families…”

A portion of the Brown Teams’ donation helped provide one family with a much-needed distraction from the unimaginable grief associated with the loss of a child. HopeKids Colorado, with help from the Brown Division, provided the family with tickets to see their favorite sports teams; the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets, in action – just one of many ways the Brown team’s donations will help local families in the Denver area.

“The compassion shown by the Harley Brown Division exemplifies our company and our culture,” said USHEALTH Group President and CEO, Troy McQuagge. “Our mission of HOPE reminds us that, as individuals and as a company, we are here for a purpose – to Help Others. I am so proud of Harley and his team for the way they stepped up to provide donations of cash and gifts, to help other families who are dealing with a child’s serious illness or are struggling with the loss of a child. Caring makes the difference.”

Division Ships Military Care Packages

USHA’s James Sackos Division Ships Military Care Packages Overseas

Team effort provides Armed Services Personnel with gifts just in time for Christmas.

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA (PRWEB) JANUARY 05, 2017

While most Americans enjoyed a hearty Thanksgiving dinner surrounded by family and friends, many of our nation’s bravest men and women; our Armed Forces Personnel, spent the holidays overseas, protecting our freedom. Realizing the sacrifices made by our fighting men and women, USHA’s James Sackos Division decided to thank approximately 100 of them with carefully prepared Military Care Packages for the Christmas Holiday.

The gift-giving project came in response to a request made by USHEALTH’s CEO Troy McQuagge, that the company’s independently contracted sales teams find a way to give back to their local communities in a meaningful way during what was called USHA’s Month of HOPE. “We purchased items for soldiers that were overseas for the holidays,” said James Sackos. “We shipped care packages totaling roughly $5,000; enough to take care of approximately 100 soldiers.”

The Fort Myers, Florida –based Division Sales Team pitched in with cash and merchandise for the packages; then later, 8 members of the team spent part of their Thanksgiving holiday preparing the packages for shipment to ensure they would arrive before Christmas. Mr. Sackos stated, “The boxes were stuffed with hundreds of items that the soldiers could share with one another. Students from a local elementary school also pitched in, writing letters and drawing pictures for our service personnel”.

Along with the letters and drawings, soldiers would find items such as snacks and energy drinks, warm socks and toiletries; even books and sunglasses. While the project certainly provided holiday cheer for the soldiers, it also brought members of the Sackos team together in a special way. “Not only the camaraderie,” said James, “but the overall spirit of the team. Everyone had smiles on their faces while they worked. It made us all feel extremely grateful that we could spend the holidays with our own families. I couldn’t imagine being overseas fighting, instead of being with my family.”

Finally, when we posed the ultimate question: was the effort worthwhile? Mr. Sackos replied, ”It was one of the best projects that we have ever done as a group.”

USHA’s Liz Byrne Team - Homes for Warriors

USHA’s Liz Byrne Team, Partners with Homes for Warriors to Provide a Holiday ‘Welcome Home’ for a Wounded Veteran and His Family

Team effort ensures new home is ready for move-in just in time for the holidays.

PALM BAY, FLORIDA (PRWEB) JANUARY 04, 2017

It was another bright and sunny December day in Palm Bay, Florida. But this would be no ordinary day for USHEALTH Advisors’ Liz Byrne Team or for a special Palm Bay area family. The 15 members of USHA’s Byrne Team chose this particular day to take on a very meaningful project; putting the final touches on a new home designated for a wounded veteran through the local “Homes for Warriors Program.” Their local efforts were part of a nationwide Month of HOPE, called for by USHEALTH Advisors President and CEO, Troy McQuagge.

Part of the group quickly set about the task of painting the home’s interior, including trim, moldings and doors. At the time the interior work was being done, other members of the team were busy removing trash and debris from the property, thereby ensuring the home would be ready inside and out. Homes for Warriors representatives stated that the work accomplished by the Byrne Team in just one day, would have normally taken weeks to complete. This meant that the home’s new owner, a veteran who was just being released from Walter Reed Medical Center, would be able to move into the home with his wife and two children, just in time for the holidays – something that only a few days prior would have been deemed unattainable.

“We completed all the necessary painting, cleaned out debris and trash; which ultimately allowed the Homes for Warriors Program to set a ‘Welcome Home’ event for this veteran and his family for December 9th, just in time for the holidays,” said Liz Byrne, a Sales Leader for USHEALTH Advisors.

The Byrne Team has partnered with the Homes for Warriors Program on multiple occasions; each time, building stronger bonds with the local program and within the team. “The impact of this project, as well as the prior Homes for Warriors projects we have done as a team, creates an overwhelming sense of community and service,” states Ms. Byrne. “These projects bring a culture of kindness and generosity. Overall, since we participated in the “Month of HOPE” Project, we have a greater sense of family in the office every day.

About Homes for Warriors – The Homes for Warriors Program is a public private partnership program (p3) of the City of Palm Bay, in cooperation with the Space Coast Paratroopers Association (501c2 not-for-profit), local businesses and community volunteers.
